The following day most of California went into a shelter-in-place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. While the world was reeling, a postponement didn’t even feel like a possibility. After a few weeks of working through decisions, they elected to push their wedding date into the foreseeable future. We were fortunately able to hold a much smaller celebration outdoors at their original venue with much of their original vendor team still intact.
We spent the following months planning and redesigning their winter wonderland wedding into a celebration that was more seasonally appropriate for the late summer months that it was being held.
In moving from a ballroom to a stunning sail-cloth tent, we elected to lighten the color palette. We still utilized the moodier emerald green from their event branding, but mixing in some tonal neutrals and brightening the floral palette from whites and greens to hues of blush, peach and yellow, abundant in late summer blooms.
Guests watched the couple exchange their vows at the Ritz-Carlton’s fireside terrace, before enjoying a seated cocktail hour.
A seating assignment display of chocolate-caramel filled acrylic boxes were arranged on a rustic wooden hutch.
Following dinner, guests danced into the late evening and enjoyed snacking on Chicago-dogs, as a nod to the couple’s hometown of Chicago.

We mixed long wooden tables with long tables draped in ivory linen, and paired dusty blue napkins with modern gold flatware, personalized menus and blush votives. Floral design consisted of lush greens and blooms of blush and ivory, with pops of a brighter pink and peach. Color was certainly abundant on our tables! A friend of our sweet bride’s watercolored the invitations herself, creating a stunning portrait of the lake with the weekend’s events detailed on the map.
Following a heartfelt and emotional ceremony, guests dined outside at West Shore Café’s lakeside patio. In lieu of a traditional cake, guests were presented with a donut cake to enjoy, before spending the rest of the night celebrating with dancing.
Alison & Will’s romantic lakeside wedding at West Shore Café was held in early July. Few couples put as much detailed thought into pulling off a destination wedding as Alison and Will did. It was a weekend full of well-thought personal details, meaningful and genuine moments and expressing gratitude. Their weekend events included a Welcome […]

Their weekend events included a Welcome Party held at their family home in Tahoe City, a wedding day full of liveliness and a Beach Day to close out the festivities. Wedding attendants on both sides consisted of siblings and the officiant was a close friend of the couple.
A color neutral color palette served as the basis for decor that was simplistic, natural and complimentary to the panoramic lakeside views. A custom mountain monogram was created and used consistently throughout the weekend’s paper and signage.
True to their thoughtful personalities, the bride and groom wrote personalized thank-you notes to each guest, which served as escort cards prior to the reception. Guests were treated to an al fresco plated dinner, followed by a dessert course from La Cocina, a favorite non-profit of the bride and groom. Guests were ushered inside for dancing and enjoyed s’mores around the firepits outside.

From day one, Monique’s vision of her big day was clear in her mind – all white and gold, with modern touches and lavish textures. We primarily kept our design elements white, adding accents of gold where we could. We added in some light blush and champagne hues for additional texture in our floral elements. Varying gold chandeliers held southern smilax, casting beautiful shadows on the wall later in the night.
Our blushing bride is a baker herself, so naturally the wedding cake and its accompanying desserts were an important an important element. We had a lavish dessert display that stuck within our color palette.
Escort cards were alfajores, a traditional Puerto Rican cookie, made by our baker bride. They were then placed into clear boxes, affixed with custom stickers and wax seals.
Their ceremony took place on the golf course of Resort at Squaw Creek, with the mountain still covered in late spring snow. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’eourves on the spa deck before being ushered into the ballrooms for dinner and dancing. Their evening concluded with a fun surprise for guests, a late night “La Hora Loca” performance with live drummers and tray passed grilled cheese on mallorca rolls from Puerto Rico. Their weekend concluded with a sunrise session with their photo team on the lake.

Their lakeside ceremony was designed with colorful and rich florals in mind. A sweet ceremony was followed by a spirited cocktail hour. Guests enjoyed tray passed hor d’oeurves and a Paloma as a signature cocktail.
Our couple had a vision of all their guests taking a shot together to kick off the party. To make this vision come to life, we worked this into their escort card display. Himalayan sea salt shot glasses with calligraphy were used for guests to take a tequila shot as they walked in to the reception tent.
They wanted a celebratory reception to match their own fun-loving energy. Guests feasted on a family style dinner that played up seasonal summer offerings. After dinner, guests were treated to late night tray-passed desserts. The celebration ended with a packed dance floor and a live saxaphonist accompanying the DJ into the late night.
During the planning process, we selected a color palette of dusty purple, mauve, blush and greens to set the summer feel. Aly’s initial vision consisted of lots of lighting. Consequently, we were sure to work plenty of it into our sail cloth tent and throughout our tabletop design. Our install team draped market lighting, chandeliers and oversized lanterns to add to the whimsical feel.
Taking place at the breathtakingly beautiful Dancing Pines just outside of Lake Tahoe, the rustic nature of these woods allowed our imaginations to run wild. Our creative team designed a tablescape with a soft and neutral palette in mind, while combining elegant touches with an underlying retro theme. We paired mid-mod elements with brightly colored blooms, […]
