Monique and Jason hosted their modern gold and white wedding at the Resort at Squaw Creek in late June. It was a celebratory wedding that combined multiple aspects of multiple cultures throughout the weekend. We saw traditions from Jewish, Puerto Rican and Moroccan cultures come together in a beautiful twist of traditions.
From day one, Monique’s vision of her big day was clear in her mind – all white and gold, with modern touches and lavish textures. We primarily kept our design elements white, adding accents of gold where we could. We added in some light blush and champagne hues for additional texture in our floral elements. Varying gold chandeliers held southern smilax, casting beautiful shadows on the wall later in the night.
Our blushing bride is a baker herself, so naturally the wedding cake and its accompanying desserts were an important an important element. We had a lavish dessert display that stuck within our color palette.
Escort cards were alfajores, a traditional Puerto Rican cookie, made by our baker bride. They were then placed into clear boxes, affixed with custom stickers and wax seals.
Their ceremony took place on the golf course of Resort at Squaw Creek, with the mountain still covered in late spring snow. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’eourves on the spa deck before being ushered into the ballrooms for dinner and dancing. Their evening concluded with a fun surprise for guests, a late night “La Hora Loca” performance with live drummers and tray passed grilled cheese on mallorca rolls from Puerto Rico. Their weekend concluded with a sunrise session with their photo team on the lake.
