Aly & CJ were married at Gatekeeper’s Museum in Tahoe City in late August. With warm summer temps, the open air lakeside venue was the perfect spot for their whimsical mauve & blush wedding at Lake Tahoe.
Their lakeside ceremony was designed with colorful and rich florals in mind. A sweet ceremony was followed by a spirited cocktail hour. Guests enjoyed tray passed hor d’oeurves and a Paloma as a signature cocktail.
Our couple had a vision of all their guests taking a shot together to kick off the party. To make this vision come to life, we worked this into their escort card display. Himalayan sea salt shot glasses with calligraphy were used for guests to take a tequila shot as they walked in to the reception tent.
They wanted a celebratory reception to match their own fun-loving energy. Guests feasted on a family style dinner that played up seasonal summer offerings. After dinner, guests were treated to late night tray-passed desserts. The celebration ended with a packed dance floor and a live saxaphonist accompanying the DJ into the late night.
During the planning process, we selected a color palette of dusty purple, mauve, blush and greens to set the summer feel. Aly’s initial vision consisted of lots of lighting. Consequently, we were sure to work plenty of it into our sail cloth tent and throughout our tabletop design. Our install team draped market lighting, chandeliers and oversized lanterns to add to the whimsical feel.
