A Lake Tahoe winter wedding is pure mountain magic—where snow-dusted pines, fireside gatherings, and alpine luxury meet for an unforgettable celebration. At The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, couples can embrace the season’s serenity and sophistication, surrounded by panoramic peaks and the warmth of five-star hospitality. For Erin and Bryce, this breathtaking destination provided the perfect blend of elegance and ease, creating a seamless winter wedding weekend filled with cozy details, modern design, and the unmistakable charm of Tahoe in February.

Erin and Bryce embraced February’s quiet beauty for their nuptials, opting to host their destination Tahoe winter wedding at The Ritz-Carlton. While a recent storm kept temperatures low and travel conditions on the riskier side, guests had no need for travel-impacted concerns thanks to on-property accommodations, ski-in/ski-out access, and the seamless, walkable flow between resort venues. Many guests remained on property for the weekend – enjoying slopeside access to the adjacent Vail-owned resort between events, unwinding at the spa, and gathering fireside before Friday’s lakeside welcome dinner at Gar Woods.
Saturday’s celebration began with an outdoor mid-mountain ceremony on the Fireside Terrace, set against fresh snow and alpine air beside a glowing hearth. Our design intentionally balanced winter’s bright whites with a palette of moody jewel tones. Paired with a garden-gathered, organic floral style and starkly modern accents, the ceremony read as dramatic yet refined – perfectly aligned with the resort’s aesthetic: elevated, never rustic. Not to forgo guest comfort, we ensured all guests were greeted with hot toddies and cozy wool throws on arrival. A favorite moment: the couple’s one-year-old son as ring bearer – sweet and utterly unforgettable.
After vows, guests transitioned indoors to warm up for a polished cocktail hour before entering a dramatically transformed Pines Ballroom for dinner and dancing. Velvet linens and sculptural black chairs were paired with wooden scalloped chargers, modern black flatware, and smoke-hued glassware for a cohesive, modern-resort setting. Following a multi-course plated service, guests enjoyed a dessert bar, a three-tier cake by Palette Cakes finished with signature sugar flowers, and late-night sliders with a French fry bar for those who lingered.
