Wellllllllllll it’s officially 2020, which means that I’m a little late to post my year in review. However, I do suppose it’s better posted late than never!
December of was a slower month for me as I had quite a bit happening personally. I was sure to take plenty of time off to catch up on some needed R&R. Despite December being his busiest month at work, my husband and I were able to spend five full days visiting his family in Las Vegas. I took a trip to visit my own family in Northern California. It was also the first time in 20 years that I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with both my mom and my dad together.
Through some serious weeks of reflecting upon 2019, it’s hard to pinpoint any one wedding as our favorite, or any one moment as the best moment. Through both the good and the bad, last year was quite good to us and there were many wonderful moments to be shared.
Our team successfully planned and executed twenty-three weddings this year. I was personally at twenty-two of them! The one missed wedding was due to attending my little brother’s graduation from OSU. I am so grateful to my team of workhorses for never complaining about our long days and always treasuring our clients as much as I do. This would have been an entirely different year without them!
On October 6th, my husband and I celebrated one full year of marriage. Although we both largely worked through the bulk of 2019 and we were unable to take some time to significantly celebrate it together, we’ve purposefully set aside some time for traveling in 2020. Fingers crossed we’ll be abroad when celebrating our second year of marriage!
It was a HUGE undertaking, but this was the year that I finally was able to spend some time developing the Audere Events brand. Shout out to Saffron Avenue for her beautiful design skills and Gillian Griffith for her amazing way with words. I am so in love with how everything turned out and couldn’t have imagined a better duo to help bring this vision to life. For a girl who hates blogging, our new format actually has me excited to commit to a few posts a month! 😉
Though 2019 was an incredibly productive year, I’ve come to realize that I don’t think I’ve ever been as busy as I was this last year. It was such an eye opening experience and I’ve certainly learned a lot about setting personal boundaries and the importance of sticking to them. For 2020, our team is planning to scale down and cap our weddings at 15, which will allow us to provide a more elevated planning experience to our Audere Events couples. As service providers, time is the most valuable resource we have to give to our clients. It’s my hope that by limiting the amount of weddings we take on, we’ll not only have more time for our clients, but have more time for ourselves which will allow us to be better refreshed for those clients. With that said, I can’t wait to see what 2020 brings to our team!
